The variety is a pot carnation with fully double flowers of pink color, the petal edges of which have shallow serrations. The plant possesses grayish-green leaves and short stems, which is characteristic of this type of culture.

The origin of the variety is linked to a mutation of the Castellaro variety; it is also known by the synonym Castella Rosa. The variety is used in agronomic studies dedicated to the physiology of cut flowers and methods for extending their vase life.
