The variety is the result of selection from a population of Dieffenbachia Tropic Snow. The main morphological difference is a darker coloration of the leaf blades compared to the parent variety, as well as increased resistance of the lower leaves to drying out.

The plant is used exclusively as a decorative indoor crop. Dieffenbachia has the ability to purify indoor air from certain toxic compounds, such as formaldehyde, xylene, and benzene.
