The plant forms a compact, upright bush 50 to 120 cm tall depending on growing conditions. The flowers are large, pure white, distinguished by a double row of petals positioned almost perpendicular to the stem and a characteristic apple-green central cone.

The flowering period lasts from June or July to September. The stems are strong, though lodging may occur under certain conditions. The plant is used in ornamental gardening, is suitable for cut flowers, and attracts pollinating insects. It requires well-drained soils to prevent disease.
