The plant forms dense clumps with gray-green serrated leaves. During the summer, sturdy, upright, branched stems develop, topped with inflorescences surrounded by narrow, silvery-gray prickly bracts, which may have a purple tint.
The variety is intended for landscape design, including borders, gravel gardens, and container gardening, and is also suitable for cutting. It prefers full sun, well-drained soils, and moderate moisture; it reacts poorly to waterlogging in the winter period.
