The variety Purple Petra forms flower heads with a diameter of 3–5 cm. The flowers are 1.5–2 cm in diameter and 2–2.5 cm long, colored in a uniform purple-dark blue-violet shade. The plant has a sweet aroma that attracts bees and butterflies.
The leaves of the variety are simple, grey-green in color, reach a length of 7.5 to 15 cm, and have a serrated edge. The plant is used in decorative gardening for landscaping flower beds and creating floral arrangements.
