The variety is a perennial herbaceous plant used in mixed borders and gravel gardens, as well as for creating compositions of fresh and dried flowers. In temperate climates, the flowering period usually occurs in July–August, sometimes continuing until September.
The plant reaches a height of 60–100 cm. It prefers sunny areas and well-drained, poor soils, being sensitive to excess moisture and excessive fertilization, which can cause stem lodging. The variety possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 4–8.
A distinctive feature is the inflorescences, consisting of prickly bracts that retain their shape and color for a long time. The name «Kok-bas» is a local name for the species Eryngium planum in general and does not refer to the varietal characteristics of 'Pearlipp'.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
