The plant reaches a height of 35–50 cm. The flowering period lasts from April to November, as the variety does not set seeds. Vernalization is not required to initiate flowering.

The variety possesses tolerance to Erwinia bacterial rot provided that healthy planting material is used. In commercial horticulture, it is grown as a spring perennial for decorative purposes.
