Variety description

The 'Cagire' variety is an evergreen tree with a slender columnar or compact-upright crown shape. The height of an adult plant is 4 to 10 meters with a crown width of 2–3 meters. The bark is decorative, peeling in strips to form a mosaic pattern.

Juvenile leaves are rounded with a silvery-bluish-green hue and a waxy bloom; as they mature, they become elongated and lanceolate. The foliage is aromatic. The plant is characterized by rapid growth, withstands temperature drops down to -15...-18°C, and is resistant to Verticillium wilt.

Prefers sunny locations and well-drained acidic or neutral soils. Used in ornamental gardening as a specimen plant, for creating hedges and container growing, as well as in cut form for floral arrangements.
