The diploid plant has a rounded shape and is distinguished by intensely dark green, broad, ovate leaves with weak lobing. The bracts also have a broad ovate shape and form a relatively compact, flat, star-shaped inflorescence.
The plant belongs to the moderately compact types. The color of the bracts is uniform, deep, red-purple, which distinguishes the variety from standard red varieties.
