The variety belongs to the group of fennel used as medicinal raw material for the extraction of essential oil. It belongs to the Asian type and is late-maturing according to the scale of the appearance of the main umbel.

The plant is characterized by small seeds: about 80% of the seeds are less than 2 mm in size. The essential oil content is at least 4.5% when grown in a warm climate. Unlike vegetable varieties, the variety does not form a bulb (grumolo).
