The variety belongs to the early-maturing category and is characterized by the formation of an edible bulb (grumolo) with a whitish outer surface. The foliage of the plant has a weak intensity of green color.

The variety has a very strong tendency toward early bolting. In agricultural practice, it is used as a standard sample when conducting tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
