The variety has a complex genealogy including the varieties Redgauntlet, Wiltguard, Gorella, Tioga and Elsanta. In terms of ripening, it is mid-season, fruiting somewhat later than the Elsanta variety.
The berries of the variety are distinguished by high firmness of the flesh and skin, uniform shape and glossy surface. The variety is of the dessert type, yield is comparable to Elsanta, while the proportion of large berries is higher, and shelf life after harvest is rated as good.
