The variety produces large, dark red berries both externally and internally. The plant is characterized by resistance to red core disease caused by the fungus Phytophthora fragariae, as well as relative tolerance to adverse weather conditions during the flowering period.
At one time, the variety was widely used both for fresh consumption and industrial processing, serving as a genetic base for breeding new resistant varieties. Currently, the variety is practically not grown due to its susceptibility to a genetic disorder known as "June yellows".
