The variety was obtained as a result of a controlled cross of breeding lines 122J81 and 111H69. The seedling was first discovered in 2004 in Monterey County, California, and showed stability of traits after five generations of propagation.
The berries are characterized by pronounced sweetness with an average acidity level. The fruiting type is defined as partially remontant or partially day-neutral. The plants possess moderate resistance to strawberry mottle virus.
