The variety was created as part of the breeding program of the Fruit and Food Technology Research Institute in Stellenbosch. In modern literature, it is mentioned as one of the cultivars bred in 1960, and is currently frequently found in lists of historical varieties.
In comparative studies of the 1960s, it was noted that the variety was inferior to later hybrids in terms of yield and berry size. Detailed morphological descriptions, such as plant height, specific maturity dates, or phytosanitary resistance indicators, are absent from open sources.
