The variety is of French origin and is presumably obtained through the selection of seedlings from open pollination. The plant is a perennial, winter-hardy crop with a bush height of about 15 cm.
The fruits are distinguished by a very large size, exceeding the Madame Moutot variety in the first harvest, and have an elongated or cubic shape. The flesh of the fruits has a medium density, comparable to a pear, and a good taste. In addition to consuming the berries, the leaves of the plant can be used for making tea.
