The 'Óbester' variety was obtained as a result of breeding work by the Hungarian breeder György Bereczki. It is assumed that the variety is a clone of 'Elsanta' and inherits its characteristics.
The variety is officially included in the National List of Varieties of Hungary as a crop for commercial cultivation. A detailed description of morphological traits, yield indicators, and disease resistance in open sources is absent.
