The Vilanova variety is mentioned in scientific publications as one of the crossing components aimed at creating new breeding materials, in particular, when working on the Amiga variety. In the 1990s, the variety also participated in comparative trials to study productivity and fruit weight when grown in winter film tunnel conditions.

At present, a detailed agronomic description of the variety, including detailed fruit characteristics, plant height and disease resistance, is absent in open sources.
