The bushes of the variety are vigorous and tall with large, deep green leaves. Peduncles often bend to the ground under the weight of ripening fruit.
The berries weighing 10–20 g have a shape ranging from broad-conical to elongated-conical. The fruit color is bright red, darkening upon full maturity. The flesh is firm, moderately juicy, light pink in color, and possesses a distinct aroma and a sweet taste with a hint of acidity.
The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and is intended for fresh consumption. Due to its historical popularity, the original mid-19th-century variety is practically not found in modern production, and the name has become a common synonym for garden strawberries.
