The Dorit variety (sometimes referred to as Dorit 216) was created within the framework of a state strawberry development program. It served as a basis for the breeding of other varieties, such as Tamar and Yael. The plant is intended for cultivation in temperate and warm climate conditions.

The fruits of the variety have a conical shape. A specific feature is the tendency toward uneven ripening, manifesting as the formation of immature areas in the upper part of the fruit. In agronomic terms, the variety is classified as sensitive to iron deficiency in calcareous soils, which can lead to chlorosis.
