The variety Lesana is of Czech selection and by its origin is considered a natural mutation of the variety Elvira. In an agronomic context, it is characterized as mid-early or mid-season, although some sources mention ripening periods extending to late.

The plant possesses a certain degree of endurance, which allows it to be grown in the temperate climate conditions of Central Europe. The berries of the variety are characterized by a balanced taste.
