The plant forms compact or spreading bushes 15 to 30 cm high and up to 60–75 cm wide. Leaves are large, glossy, dark green, and semi-evergreen. Flowers are bright, ranging from pink to a saturated cherry-red shade with a golden center.

The variety is everbearing and flowers from spring to autumn. It produces edible but small fruits, as the plant's energy is primarily spent on flowering. The crop is winter-hardy (USDA zones 3–4), drought-tolerant, and undemanding regarding soil composition.

The primary purpose of the variety is ornamental landscaping. It is used for planting in mixed borders, rock gardens, retaining walls, as well as in containers, hanging baskets, and balcony boxes.
