The variety 'Tchaikovsky' (the spelling 'Tsjaikovksi' is also encountered) is a perennial bulbous plant of the Liliaceae family. The plant has short black stems and large bell-shaped flowers of a salmon-orange hue, which form a whorl topped with a tuft of leaves.
This variety is classified as semi-dwarf and is characterized by the sturdiness of its stems, which do not require additional support. This spring-flowering plant is used primarily in ornamental gardening and landscape design.
