The plant forms a compact mound 45–60 cm tall and up to 90 cm wide. The foliage is green, deciduous in winter. Capitulum inflorescences about 9 cm in diameter have tubular, rolled petals colored in reddish-brown, red, pinkish, and terracotta tones. The flowering period lasts from late spring to early autumn.

The variety is resistant to heat, humidity, drought after establishment, and Verticillium wilt, and is also relatively resistant to deer and rabbits. Due to its bushy shape, the plant does not lodge. It prefers full sun and well-drained, poor soils; it tolerates excessive moisture and heavy clay poorly.

Used in ornamental gardening for border design, container cultivation, creating floral arrangements, and as a cut flower crop.
