The plant reaches a height of 80 to 150 cm. The flowering period occurs from July to September. The flowers have a velvety texture and ruffled edges, maintaining a saturated burgundy color when exposed to direct sunlight.
The variety prefers sunny, wind-protected sites with well-drained soils of neutral or slightly acidic reaction. The plant does not possess high winter hardiness, therefore corms require annual digging for the winter.
