The Carla TD variety was developed at the Turda Agricultural Research and Development Station. According to the 2019 test results, it is characterized by one of the shortest vegetation periods among the studied samples.

The plant shows good productivity and stability under various growing conditions, in particular in the Southern Muntenia region. In a number of publications, this variety is mentioned as herbicide-resistant, while in some reports it is described in the context of trials of traditional varieties.
