The variety of Canadian origin was bred by crossing R. ussuriense and Kerry. Plants of this variety have purple flowers and brown pubescence.

In experimental studies, the variety was classified as late-maturing with a growing season of about 142 days. Scientific documentation notes its immunity to rust; studies on protein and oil content in the grains were also conducted.
