The Madlen variety, having the breeding number SP-16, is distinguished by higher placement of the lower pod compared to some other varieties. Lodging resistance is characterized as inconsistent: there are both data on very low lodging before harvest and reports of its occurrence under specific production conditions.

The variety belongs to a maturity group relevant to conditions in Poland and is mentioned as a later variety in comparison with Mavka. The product is non-GMO. In scientific research, the variety was used for the analysis of flavonoid composition in leaves and assessment of the effect on the survival of the pea aphid.

Soybeans of this variety are intended for cultivation in temperate climate conditions and can be used for both fodder and food purposes.
