The variety was obtained by crossing lines BD22115-13 and Premier. It is intended for cultivation in northern latitudes above 45 degrees N and demonstrates ripening periods in the range of 113–115 days.

The plant possesses a certain level of resistance to the pathogen Pythium irregulare. The variety is high-yielding and is widely used in breeding programs, in particular, as a base line for developing varieties with reduced linolenic acid content.
