The variety was obtained by crossing lines OAC Bayfield and OAC 95-06. It belongs to the 0.7–0.8 maturity group with a heat unit rating of 2750. Plant height is medium to medium-tall, with an intermediate canopy type.

Plants have purple flowers, tawny pubescence, and brown hilum color. The variety possesses field tolerance to Phytophthora root rot and resistance to white mold; the lodging resistance score is approximately 1.7.

Grain protein content is approximately 37.7%. The variety is adapted to various soil types and is suitable for conventional tillage and no-till farming technologies.
