The soybean variety Selenia was bred by the method of individual selection from an F4 hybrid population. Plants reach a height of 95–105 cm, and under high humidity conditions, they grow to 110–120 cm. It is characterized by the presence of gray pubescence and a purple flower corolla.
The variety is characterized by drought tolerance and high resistance to pod shattering, downy mildew, and stem canker. The grain is distinguished by a consistently high protein and oil content.
