The variety has a complex genetic pedigree including the Nucala, AHA, Rowden, Hopi, and Stormproof 120 lines. The plant has an upright stem, a normal leaf type, and an open canopy. The first fruiting branches are initiated at the 6th node; the distance to the first branch is approximately 9 cm.
The flowers of the variety have cream-colored petals and pollen and are equipped with nectaries. In height, GSA 71 exceeds the Lankart 57 variety by approximately 25 cm. The variety was adapted to the conditions of the US High Plains and was intended for commercial cultivation using stripper harvesting of bolls.
