The variety originates from the selection of Tamcot SP-21. The plant is characterized by a morphology close to this source material and was intended for regions where the stripper harvesting method is used.
The variety is susceptible to Verticillium wilt, and during tests for resistance to the Fusarium wilt complex and root-knot nematode, it supported high nematode population densities. Fiber quality is characterized by a length of about 0.99 inches, while nitrogen fertilizer application at a rate higher than 90 kg/ha leads to a decrease in these indicators.
