Plants of the Delfos group were described as short, spreading, and sparsely foliated. This morphology provided better illumination of the bolls, promoting their rapid opening and reducing the risk of rot, and also protected against damage by pests, in particular the boll weevil, due to the rapid hardening of the bolls.

The varieties were characterized as very early-maturing with high yields. The lint percentage was approximately 33–35%, and the staple length for individual lines reached 1-5/32 – 1-3/16 inches. These varieties were used for the production of textile raw materials in the Mississippi Delta and Louisiana regions.
