The Etna variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained as a result of crossing Gossypium hirsutum (Acala variety) and Gossypium barbadense (Pima variety). The plant is grown for the production of high-quality textile fiber.

The variety possesses some of the longest fibers among the studied hybrids, measuring approximately 33.88 mm, and demonstrates high fiber strength at the level of 40.07 g/tex. Within the framework of comparative trials, the variety is recognized as competitive in terms of yield and development indicators.
