The plant is a fast-growing shrub capable of reaching a height of more than 10 meters with the presence of support or creeping along the ground, reaching a height of about 20 cm. The leaves are large, leathery, bright green in color, and usually five-lobed on sterile shoots.
Flowering occurs in September–October with yellow-green flowers, after which fruits in the form of black berries are formed. The plant possesses moderate winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 7–8, and is resistant to air pollution and coastal zone conditions.
In landscape design, it is used for slope stabilization, decorating tree trunk circles, and adorning vertical surfaces such as walls and fences. It is considered an undemanding plant, rarely affected by diseases.
