The HA-26 line and its modifications are used in breeding programs as donors of valuable traits. Specifically, they are applied for the development of resistance to broomrape and downy mildew, as well as in physiological studies of resistance to drought and fungal diseases, such as Macrophomina phaseolina.
Morphological characteristics of the line include medium plant height, absence of branching, medium flowering time, medium head size, and black achene coloration. Standard agronomic indicators applied to commercial crops are not characteristic of this line.
