The line was created by specialists at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad as a cytoplasmic male sterile form. It serves as genetic material for developing new hybrids and studying morphogenesis, and is also used as a source of resistance to diseases, in particular to broomrape.
In scientific literature, the line is used in laboratory experiments, including studies on tissue culture, in vitro plant regeneration, and molecular genetic programs using markers. This line is not a commercial variety or hybrid for commodity production.
