The HA 850 line is a B-line type material used for maintaining cytoplasmic male sterility lines. It is a specialized genetic sample used by breeders to create new sunflower hybrids.
This line belongs to the high oil content group. In international sunflower testing documentation, HA 850 is used as a reference sample for comparing morphological traits, in particular, for evaluating hypocotyl color.
