The RHA-Ru-3 line is breeding genetic material not intended for commercial cultivation. The primary purpose of the line is for use in breeding programs to create high-yielding hybrids.

Physiological studies note that for this line, seed moisture content after flowering decreases gradually, but at a higher rate than a number of other restorer lines. The line is included in studies on breeding for resistance to downy mildew and Phomopsis.
