The RHA-SEL line is used in breeding work to create new hybrids due to its high combining ability for seed yield and oil content. The line was developed to improve oil quality, including work with oleic acid and tocopherol genes.

The plant possesses good agronomic characteristics and high tolerance to Phomopsis. At the same time, the line is susceptible to all known races of downy mildew.
