Skh 1006 A is a cytoplasmic male sterile line and is not intended for commercial production. Its primary purpose is use in breeding programs as a parental form for the production of first-generation hybrids.

The line is of high importance for breeding as a donor of valuable traits. Hybrids based on it exhibit resistance to broomrape, downy mildew and are characterized by early maturity. The line is also used to improve seed oil content and to study resistance to Phomopsis and cold tolerance.
