The plant forms a compact mounded shape with a height of about 35 cm and a width of 20 to 41 cm. The foliage is woolly, with a silvery-green shade.
The inflorescences are numerous, positioned above the main mass of leaves. Involucral bracts are reddish-orange when opening, lightening as they develop. Flowering occurs in spring and summer.
The variety is drought-tolerant, prefers full sun or partial shade, USDA hardiness zones 8–10. Suitable for use as a dried flower and for cut flowers.
