The plant is a perennial herbaceous crop reaching 15–30 cm in height. A distinctive feature of the variety is the greyish pubescent woolly leaves and decorative "papery" inflorescences with pink involucral bracts.
The variety is intended for cultivation in open field, primarily in rockeries, as well as a pot crop. The plant prefers full sun exposure and well-drained soils, while being sensitive to high humidity and heat. The variety is resistant to deer damage.
