The Hibiscus moscheutos 'Bordeaux' variety is an herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit. The plant has large glossy oval-shaped leaves and large cherry-red flowers with a dark center. The aerial part dies back during the winter period.

The Sunny Bordeaux variety, part of the Sunny Cities collection, is a type of Chinese hibiscus. This plant is intended for protected cultivation as a pot culture and is often grown in a standard form.
