Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained from crossing the ‘Kopper King’ and ‘Fireball’ varieties. The plant is an herbaceous perennial with a compact, well-branching dense bush 120–150 cm tall and 100–120 cm wide. The above-ground part dies off annually for the winter.

The foliage is maple-shaped or pinnately lobed, with a dark purple, almost black color. The flowers are large, reaching 20–25 cm in diameter; the petals are white-pink with a dark crimson center and contrasting veins.

The plant is winter-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -29...-30 °C (USDA zones 4–9). The shoots are strong and resistant to lodging. The variety prefers sunny sites and moist, organic-rich soils, and responds well to regular watering and fertilization.
