Variety description

The plant forms a compact upright shrub 0.8 to 1.5 meters tall with sturdy stems. The maple-like leaves change color from dark green to purple or bronze in bright sunlight.

Flowers with a diameter of 15–25 cm have ruffled petals of a raspberry-pink or plum-purple shade with a dark center. The above-ground part dies back annually and requires pruning.

The variety possesses USDA zone 4 winter hardiness, withstanding frosts down to -34°C. It prefers a sunny location and moist, organic-rich soils, exhibiting resistance to common leaf diseases and rots.
