The variety produces large flowers up to 22 cm in diameter, possessing a characteristic square shape. The petal color is bright scarlet with a transition to a vermilion shade at the center, where white flames form a star-shaped pattern. The plant height is 40–50 cm.

The plant belongs to the large-flowered hybrid category. There is no specific data on disease resistance, however, the variety is noted to be susceptible to viral diseases, which became one of the reasons for the end of its mass commercial cultivation.
