The variety has a genetic origin of Eura II / Heine 1670-58. In the 1970s, it was known as a promising variety for the malting industry, demonstrating high extract yield rates at the level of 81.2% according to the EBC Congress method and good enzymatic activity.
In modern science, the variety is used as a model object and reference material. It is applied in programs for studying the mechanisms of male sterility and in the creation of breeding lines with improved grain enzymatic properties, in particular with increased beta-amylase activity.
