The variety is a two-row winter barley. Its genetic pedigree is based on the cross between the variety Regina and breeding line St. 1331.

The variety is intended for agricultural cultivation in temperate climate conditions. Testing included evaluation of grain quality, including plump grain percentage, test weight, and protein content, as well as an assessment of resistance to loose and covered smut and winter hardiness level.
